WHY TALLOW?

Tallow is a true skin superfood, packed with vital fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that replenish and revitalize.

An incredible ancient ingredient that will transform dry, damaged skin to softer, smoother and more radiant than ever.

Tallow has been used for centuries to soothe, heal and protect our skin.

Full of essential fat soluble vitamins A, D, E & K.

Whether you struggle with chronic dryness, eczema, or just want to give your complexion an extra boost, Tallow is the solution you've been searching for.

Suitable for babies, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Where does the tallow come from?

We source our Beef Suet directly from Bird Rock, a local farm in Ceres, only a few kilometers from where our balms are made in Geelong. The cattle are 100% grass fed and finished.

What can i use it for?

The uses of tallow are endless!

Moisturiser - Make up primer - Redness - Acne - Scars - Dry skin - Psoriasis - Eczema - Oily skin - Dermatitis - Itching - Cracked heels - Dry lips - Cradle cap - Tattoos - Wrinkles - Nappy rash - Bites - Burns - Grazes - Rashes - Sunburn

Who can use tallow?

Our Tallow Balm is perfect for anyone seeking a clean, effective moisturizer to combat dryness, eczema, psoriasis, acne and other skin concerns.

Tallow is safe and effective for the whole family.

Crafted with no essential oils - it is perfect for everyone. Even the most delicate skin.

As always when using a new product, we recommend a patch test.

What is it mixed with?

All of our balms contain Castor Oil.

Our castor oil is cold pressed and hexane free.

Why do we love castor oil?

  • Improve skin texture and promote moisturization of the skin
  • Stimulate the growth of skin tissues that result in younger-looking skin
  • Restoring and rejuvenating properties that help to treat dry skin aliments like dermatitis and psoriasis
  • Naturally antimicrobial and can reduce acne and pimples
  • Wound healing qualities
  • Reduce the appearance of marks, scars, and pimples.
  • Castor Oil is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.

In our Healing and Tattoo Balms, we add calendula oil and beeswax.

And Unrefined Shea Butter in our Healing Balm

Calendula has many properties including being antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, stimulates the immune system, assisting the body in fighting infections and promoting skin tissue repair to help minimise scar formation.

Beeswax is anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-bacterial and germicidal. Making it the perfect addition to our Healing Balms.

Unrefined Shea Butter is an emollient that softens and hydrates skin. It contains several types of fatty acids that improve the skin's natural barrier, shea butter also protects skin from damage from the environment like pollutants.

Do you use essential oils?

We do not add any essential oils into our balms.

We wanted our products to be suitable to use on babies, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What step of my skincare routine should i use it?

We recommend tallow as your final step in both your morning and evening skincare routine.

Use a small amount in the morning, but we love to lather it on at night for a deep hydration.

How is it made?

We render our own tallow from start to finish.

We use a low heat, water free method to ensure the integrity of our tallow.

This process takes 72 hours.

Our balms are made in small batches for quality control.

Whipped or solid? How do i use it?

Our Original Balms come in both whipped and solid.

We love the whipped for full body moisturising. It's beautiful to apply to larger area and absorbs in quickly.

The solid is perfect for the face and spot treatments. A lovely buttery texture that melts into the skin.

Bundles are available so you can experience both and decide which you prefer.

A little goes a long way, if you feel oily then you may be using too much.

You should feel glowing, not greasy.

Will it clog my pores?

Not at all. tallow is non-comedogenic, which means that it won't clog your pores. Tallow mimics our skins natural sebum, which helps to protect and hydrate without blocking your pores and causing breakouts. Tallow can be used on acne prone skin.

What does it smell like?

As this is an all natural animal product, there is an organic scent which is slightly fatty. Some have compared it to the smell of whipped cream.

How to store your tallow balms

Due to our purifying method, our tallow balms are very shelf stable.

This means they will last you a long time when stored correctly.

We recommend always making sure the lid is tightly screwed on and the product stored in a cool, dry place.

The balm can change consistency depending on the climate.

Use within 6 months.
